Women in Quant Finance
G-Research is committed to growing the range of voices and perspectives within our industry. We are therefore excited to announce the start of our Women’s Engagement Programme with our first Women in Quant Finance event. Designed for those based in Europe, it will be the first in our programme, with future editions set to take place in London and the US.
This remote event will include a range of introductory and technical talks, as well as collaborative skills courses and interview prep sessions. Our goal is to give women studying for a PhD the chance to learn more about working in quantitative research in finance, while providing them with the chance to build up a network of their peers.
The event will be held remotely, so you’ll be able to join from the comfort of your own home via video conference call. It will take place on the evenings of the 23rd and 24th of November, 2020.
On Day 1, you will hear an introductory talk from some of our quant researchers before participating in an interactive case study, giving you the chance to get hands-on with the type of work we engage with.
On Day 2, we will host another talk by one of our quant researchers, this time focused on the financial industry. Following this, we’ll be hosting a panel discussion, and afterwards you’ll get the chance to network with your peers.
Each day’s activities will run for approximately 3 hours.
Interested in participating? Then please apply by sending your CV and cover letter (outlining your motivations for wanting to join the programme) to email@example.com.
To be eligible to take part, you need to be a woman currently studying for a PhD in a STEM subject. There will be limited places available for those studying for their master’s degree. Our first event is specific to those studying in Europe. If you’re studying elsewhere, please sign up below to hear news on future events.
We will stop accepting applications for the event on the 1st of November. Attendees will be confirmed by the 9th of November.
If you are selected to participate, you will be guaranteed an interview for our Summer Research Programme, an internship programme in quantitative research (applications opening in September).
Alternatively, if you can’t make this event but would be interested in our future Women in Quant Finance events, just let us know by filling out this form.
