Professor Zuboff

We’re excited to announce the latest talk in the G-Research Distinguished Speaker Series, which will be given by Harvard Professor and best-selling author Shoshana Zuboff.

Professor Zuboff is well known for her work on Surveillance Capitalism, the way in which global tech companies use our personal data to not only predict our behaviour, but also to influence and modify it. You may also recognise her from the recent Netflix documentary ‘The Social Dilemma’.

During this event, Professor Zuboff will be discussing her research, looking at how this phenomenon impacts everything from education to the economy. She will also discuss topics including the advancement of AI, how the use of data impacts democratic discourse, and (naturally) providing her thoughts on the implications COVID-19 could have on Surveillance Capitalism.

The event will be held remotely, so you’ll be able to join from the comfort of your own home via video conference call.
