  • Quantitative Research

Each month, we provide up to £2,000 in grant money to early career researchers in quantitative disciplines.

Our aim is to support and assist PhD students and postdocs conducting research, particularly with costs that may be difficult to get funding for elsewhere, for example, travel for those who are caring for children, or expenses for volunteer work related to research.

Learn more about our grant programme, including how you can apply and the work we support.

Read on to hear from our latest winners, their research and how our grants will aid their work.

Antoine Remond-Tiedrez (Cambridge University)

Grant winner Antoine Remond-Tiedrez

“My research lives in the realm of fluid mechanics where I use tools from mathematical analysis to study problems involving fluid interfaces and complex fluids, ranging from cloud-air interfaces to polymeric fluids.

“Fluid mechanics is by nature interdisciplinary and support from G-Research will allow me to present my work at a conference on Non-linear Evolution Equations and Wave Phenomena, which is motivated by the emphasis of this collaborative effort between theory and computation.”

Olivier Binette (Duke University)

“I am a PhD Candidate in the Statistical Science Department at Duke University. I work on computational techniques used to study hard-to-reach populations, with application to social science and human rights.

“Part of my research focuses on the development of entity resolution algorithms which are used to integrate information spread across multiple large databases.

“G-Research’s grant will support me in the development of open source entity resolution software for big data integration.”

Congratulations to our grant winners.
