Talent Acquisition Specialist - Engineering

The role

G-Research’s ongoing success is dependent on hiring the best engineering talent available, against a backdrop of increasing competition. You will play a key role in attracting this talent from around the world, identifying, engaging and closing software engineers from a range of backgrounds, tech-stacks, industries and geographies.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

Identifying and engaging the best engineers

  • Execute a comprehensive engagement strategy for top engineers of varying experience levels across the UK, Europe and North America
  • Utilise tools and methods such as LinkedIn, StackOverflow, Github, academic sites, X-Ray searches, blogs, social media, and our CRM system to build an extensive, multi-year pipeline of talent
  • Attend networking events, tech talks, conferences and meet-ups to build out our candidate pipeline and relationships
  • Drive external and internal referrals
  • Engage new talent pools at newly identified companies and industries
  • Create novel sourcing techniques to find hidden talent

Building strong relationships with potential candidates

  • Travel to meet with engineers at our target companies in person. Travel internationally from time-to-time to meet with our target EU/US groups
  • Understand prospects’ ambitions, motivations and career options in order to sell back our opportunity during the process and identify potential issues
  • Build relationships with engineers at various stages of their careers; from recent graduates through to tech leads
  • Assist interested candidates with preparation for the interview process
  • Devise and execute successful closing strategies on a candidate-by-candidate basis
  • Curate technical content such as leadership blogs to engage talent communities
  • Host internal events and meetups

Developing market insights

  • Share expertise and market knowledge with the wider team, feeding insights in to the Marketing function
  • Contribute to the development of our Software Engineering branding programme

Who are we looking for?

The Talent Acquisition Specialist will be responsible for continuing to develop G-Research as a recognised and respected brand within software engineer talent pools. As such, the ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • At least three years’ experience recruiting engineers; either from within a recruitment agency or an internal recruitment function
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Good with people and a team player
  • Strong organisational skills and an adaptable and flexible attitude
  • Excellent networking skills
  • Have a pre-existing network of software engineers both inside and outside of the UK
  • Able to travel nationally and occasionally internationally
  • A genuine interest in technology
