Data Analyst

G-Research is Europe’s leading quantitative finance research firm. We hire the brightest minds in the world to tackle some of the biggest questions in finance. We pair this expertise with machine learning, big data, and some of the most advanced technology available to predict movements in financial markets.

The role

The Reference Data team are part of the Data Engineering Group at G-Research.  We are responsible for the modelling and maintenance of all master data relating to a wide variety of traded instruments throughout their lifecycles.

Working in a multi-disciplinary team of analysts and engineers, you will discover, enrich, and analyse big data sources to build solutions that will drive tomorrow's research initiatives.  By evaluating the suitability of data from multiple potential sources, you will make recommendations to the engineering team as to how best it can be utilised. This means you will have a unique opportunity to make an impact from the beginning.

In addition to the trading data and research focus of the role, you will also be able to look at the team's existing processes and suggest where modern data science techniques can be used to improve processes and quality of output.   This will include designing and implementing high-quality reports and visualisations to surface metrics to optimise processes across the group.

This role provides opportunities to learn about multi-asset class systematic investing and big data development in an innovative and forward-thinking firm.

We give people in the team time to learn and develop - including regular 10% time to work on your own ideas, and the opportunity to attend training and conferences.
