Compute Infrastructure Engineer

This role is based in G-Research’s new office in Dallas. Opened in 2022, the Dallas office is a key infrastructure hub where we work on the latest cloud technologies in a cutting-edge environment.
Our Compute Infrastructure Engineering team is looking for an Engineer to build new automation and tooling that will support a rapidly growing server estate, which is vital to G-Research’s future plans.
The Compute Infrastructure Engineering team is responsible for the engineering and operational support of G-Research’s global HPE server estate. They look after office, data centre, and co-location sites, and ensure optimal performance and stability of the company’s compute infrastructure.
This role is vital to ensure the team continues to provide high levels of service to the business and we are always working hard to improve. That is why we are looking for the best team members to bring in and learn from.
The role is principally project based, and covers managing and upgrading the current infrastructure and associated tooling, as well as researching and implementing new technologies in line with key business objectives.
Within the business, there is a strong “Infrastructure as Code” philosophy, which means we will continue to introduce next generation applications and distributed platforms to ensure we continue to be the best at what we do.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be self-driven, hardworking and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, along with the technical experience needed to build high-performance, resilient solutions.
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Linux and/or Windows
- Python and/or PowerShell
- Automation tooling (exposure to one or more of the following tooling and/or the ability to quickly pick-up new tooling):
It would be beneficial (but not essential) to have experience with operating hardware at scale, for example HPE Synergy, Apollo, ProLiant, OneView, NVIDIA GPUs, ESKM).
