Academic Relationship Manager

The role

G-Research operates at the cutting edge of computing, data science, and quantitative research. It is therefore key to the business that we engage and support academic communities within STEM fields, such as machine learning, statistics, computer science and mathematics.

To expand and drive forward this work, we are hiring a dedicated Academic Relationship Manager who will be responsible for developing and owning key partnerships with universities.

This role will work closely with our Quantitative Research, Talent Acquisition and Marketing teams, building an understanding of international academic systems and identifying ways in which G-Research can support STEM departments and engage their students.

This unique position will suit someone from a STEM background with a proactive, business development mind-set who would relish the opportunity of engaging an array of world-class talent across Europe.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Owning our sponsorships and partnerships strategy; identifying and partnering with specialist student networks across Europe
  • Building a detailed understanding of what marks out top talent across different geographies and fields and their approaches to careers
  • Partnering with Marketing and Talent Acquisition to develop and execute a strategy to ensure the G-Research brand is recognised and attractive to diverse prospective Quantitative Researchers
  • Building and updating comprehensive maps of the European academic landscape
  • Identifying new talent sources and engaging target institutions and groups
  • Proactively creating bespoke outreach campaigns and taking proposals through from ideation to sign off
  • Scaling successful initiatives from small-scale trials to major, multi-institution agreements

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • An ability to work independently and thrive in a rapidly moving environment
  • A strong academic record; preferably to Masters level or beyond in a STEM discipline
  • Demonstrable experience of translating nebulous ideas into actions
  • An interest in and/or knowledge of academia
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate our value proposition to our partners
  • Project management skills
  • Desire travel regularly across Europe and beyond
