Corporate Infrastructure Engineer

The role

We are looking for an experienced IT engineer to join our Corporate Infrastructure team, part of the Enterprise Business Services group that is responsible for all Corporate IT services at G-Research. This newly formed team already manages a wide array of applications and technologies with an ambitious roadmap for the future.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • 80:20 project to support work, where support items are escalated internally from our Operations team
  • Taking individual ownership of projects
  • Researching and implementing new applications and technologies in line with key business objectives
  • Conducting improvement work, upgrades and maintenance of our existing managed estate
  • Building security into solutions
  • Using Jira and Confluence to detail changes made and update system documentation

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of the Citrix suite of products, especially with Citrix ADC (NetScaler)
  • Citrix experience with: remote PC access, Citrix virtual apps and desktops, provisioning services and its components, FSlogix profile management, installation and configuration, with a solid troubleshooting methodology at each component level
  • Experience with Microsoft products including: Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server on premise, Exchange Online
  • Deploying and maintaining virtualisation technologies such as VMware, vSAN and Xen Server
  • Azure technologies
  • Strong time management
  • Plenty of drive and determination

Desirable but not essential:

  • O365 experience
  • Knowledge of automation tools (e.g. Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins)
  • Any scripting experience (e.g. PowerShell, Python)
  • Linux OS experience
